Never Again Should Life Not be Sacred
On November 11, 2008, I departed Munich, Germany with a renewed view of the 'sacredness', and 'value' of life. This renewed view came from a visit to one of the Holocaust's first and more known Nazi concentration camps, where life was not always considered 'sacred' to the Nazis, from 1933-1945. After a visit to the 'Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial' it was the dark evil of this era that has convinced many that life is 'sacred', and not disposable. I prefer to express this memorial celebrating and commemorating 'Life', beginning with the phrase 'Never Again'. 'Never again' shall life be other than sacred. 'Never again' shall life be endangered of extinction. 'Never again' shall life be disposable and meaningless. 'Never again' shall life be valueless and of no significance.
'Never again' shall the human race seek a pure-bred stock, or a superior-race. 'Never again' shall religious beliefs be a basis for incarceration and extermination. 'Never again' shall an ethnic background be a basis for hatred, which leads to death. 'Never again' shall physical health be a basis for death, experimentation, or life. 'Never again' shall political beliefs be a basis for incarceration or death.
'Never again' shall the human rights of a person or people group be violated. 'Never again' shall society ignore the abuses of human rights of its fellow citizens. 'Never again' shall human rights be dishonored and disrespected.
'Never again' shall any human being be mentally and/or physically tortured. 'Never again' shall any human being be subjected to forced labor. 'Never again' shall any human being be subjected to a meaningless existence.
'Never again' shall any human being be incarcerated in a concentration camp. 'Never again' shall human beings live in the horrific conditions of a concentration camp. 'Never again' shall concentration camps be permitted to exist.
'Never again' shall genocide be practiced nor accepted as a philosophical belief. 'Never again' shall genocidal tyrants be permitted to have authority over life. 'Never again' shall there be genocide.
'Never again' shall liberty be denied. 'Never again' shall justice be denied or perverted. 'Never again' shall life be dishonored.
Life is Sacred.
